Mother Trucker

September 30th, 2007

I have a story up today at the wonderful Fresh Yarn, the personal essay website hosted by Hillary Carlip. There are some amazing pieces by great writers on her site, so take a look. Go on. Click away. Nothin’ to see here, people. Nothin’ but me and my complete inability to create a real hyperlink.

(10/8: Actually, thanks to Bren, I am now a hyperlink literate. Ta da!)

At least you knew it was called a hyperlink… I just call them “blue letters.” Ah well, I’m off to read you over there!

hey, i enjoyed the essay, but am wondering what happened to the entry for September about getting into your overheated car and making muffins? i loved it and sent the link to several friends who were ROTFL. (ok, one was grossed out, but in her defense, she was eating lunch)

I just looked & apparently I did something that caused A Hypothetical Question (aka Biscuits) to move back to the August posts. I’ll try to figure out how to move it back to its original spot. I hope it doesn’t involve math.

I figured you removed it because it made you nauseous…hehehe. That was the most hysterical hypo question EVER!

I’m going to check out the link :)

Oh and GREAT story… as per usual! Sometimes you do have to live life on the edge a little, just to remind yourself that you’re alive!

I rode a ride called “Lethal Weapon” at Movie World in Queensland, Australia once. It’s a suspended roller coaster. Standing in the queue terrified me because this ride was different. After queuing for rides all day and listening to deafening screams from the riders, it was just HORRIBLE to notice that EVEYRONE was silent on this one… NOT a good sign. Combine this with at least two terrifying rides earlier in the day and as you can imagine I was sooo outside my comfort zone. But I jumped on anyways and after the original fear subsided I had SUCH a blast. I’m pretty sure I was the only one yelling my head off the rest of way around. “WAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOO!!” I came off purely buzzing.

It’s truly good for the soul to scare yourself silly every now and again!

Keep up the good work, Wendi!

Right. I am now one of the annoying mainstream bloggers who tags unsuspecting bloggers with a meme thing. It’s for random items, tag you’re one of “it”, and details are on my blog at:

Yes, I suck, and No, I am not a stalker.
